SJAHS recently lost one of its directors and founding members. Joe Wooden served the SJAHS for almost 30 years. In the beginning Joe headed up the committee to relocate the archives from Napoleon Cantin’s property to Hessenland Country Inn. He wrote the text for the historical plaques for the Heritage Walkway and he was involved in various projects our society tackled throughout the years.
In 2012 he was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal which is given to honour individual Canadians who have made significant contributions to the community and the proud heritage of Canada.
Someone came across these Huron County Council photos from the 1930’s & 1940’s and gifted them to us so we are sharing them with you. Check them out. Did you know someone on the Huron County Council in the 1930 and 40’s?
